KLÁRI - SUITE

KLÁRI-SUITE is a recital for voice, piano and video developed by mezzo-soprano Sarah van der Kemp. Music and video art enter into a unique dialogue – organically developed from shared formal and expressive aspects. Béla Bartók's Five Songs op. 15 become the nucleus of a multi-sensory exploration covering the entire range of passion between creative, intoxicating and destructive power. Together with van der Kemp, pianist Yejin Gil and flutist Aaron Dan will perform chamber and solo compositions by Bartók, Unsuk Chin, Peter Eötvös and Maurice Ravel, which enter into an exchange with the virtuoso video composition of stage designer and video artist Robert Pflanz. "We create according to nature" - this compositional guiding principle of Bartók is reflected in the dramaturgy of the programme that follows the harmonious proportions of the golden ratio.
