Richard Strauss METAMORPHOSES for 23 solo strings
5 p.m.
KlangRaumZion | Chamber concert | Charity concert
April 1945. Shortly before the end of the war, 80-year-old Richard Strauss completes his most personal work: a meditation on the incessant change of being – and at the same time a deeply felt farewell to a world that is coming to an end.
METAMORPHOSEN combines 23 individual string parts into a densely woven song. In the unique atmosphere of the Zionskirche, we explore the genesis of the work, follow the threads of the music together, and then bring them together in a complete performance.
