Academy for Early Music Berlin: “Bach’s Family”
7:00 p.m.
Xenia Löffler, oboe, and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, conducted by Georg Kallweit.
Look forward to musical encounters with masterpieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, his cousin Johann Bernhard, and two of the four composer sons of the Thomaskantor. These sons would go on to follow very different paths. While the eldest, Wilhelm Friedemann, remained a loner as an artist, Carl Philipp’s name shone brighter than his father’s during his lifetime.
